Performance by A. Cadia
Performance with a tattoo machine, ink, vaseline and thermal paper.
2024.“It is Only Our Act of Looking That Forces Nature's Hand“ is a minimalist 4-hour performance that explores themes of self-identity, transformation and the transient nature of pain. The artist Cadia tattoos themselves, using their non-binary body as the sole site of research into identity. "It is Only Our Act of Looking That Forces Nature's Hand” is a statement on the indivisible power of self-definition and and the role of the observer in the ongoing narrative of queer identity.

Forces
(algorithmic ambiance set 2004-2024)Constantly mutating rhythms and sharp digital textures shape the sound of Forces. Forces is the electronic music project of Finnish interdisciplinary artist Joonas Siren. Different live-coding and processing techniques are used to make dense atomized swirls; electronic and sometimes chaotic abstract oceans of sound. Their music has been released on mappa, Infinite Machine, Gin & Platonic, Genot Centre, Conditional and Bio Future Laboratory, and has also been played in mixes by experimental producers like Aphex Twin, Daniel Ruane and ZULI. For the cable factory set, Forces will make a special set utilizing the SuperCollider sound programming language and 20 years of recorded ambient/drone tracks on their different old external hard drives. The program will mix these different tracks together in a completely random manner, hopefully achieving serendipitous and interesting moments.
